48 Cases of Delta Plus Variant Reported Across the Country: ICMR
Around Forty-eight cases of the Delta Plus Variant has been identified in India and the cases are localised, said Dr Balram Bharqava, Director General Of the Indian Council of Medical Research on Friday, 25 June.
According to Dr Bhargava the results of vaccine effectiveness will be available in next 7-10 days.
On Friday Indai reported 51,677 new COVID-19 cases and around 1329 deaths in the last 24 hours, as per the Union Health Ministry.
The total cases in India are now around 3,01,34,445, with the death toll reaching around 3,93,310. With 96.7% percent of recovery rate , total people recovered are around 2,91,28,267
According to the Health Ministry total 30,79,48,744 people have been vaccinated with at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Kerala Reports 11,546 New COVID-19 Cases
Kerala has reported 11,546 new COVID19 positive cases, 11,056 recoveries and 118 deaths on Friday.
Death toll stands at 12,699; while 27,52,492 patients have recovered so far.
Andhra Pradesh Reports 4,458 New COVID-19 Cases
Andhra Pradesh has reported 4,458 new COVID-19 cases, 6,313 recoveries and 38 deaths in the last 24 hours.

More Data, Studies Required to Vaccinate Children Against COVID: ICMR
Dr Balram Bhargava, Director General of the Indian Council of Medical Research on 25 June stated that the ICMR will not be in a positive to approve COVID vaccinations for children until data and study are available.
"There's only one country that's giving vaccine to children at the moment. Whether very small children will ever need vaccine, is still a question. Till such time, we've more data on vaccination of children, we won't be in a position to vaccinate children at large," he said.
He added that a small study has been started on children between the age of 2-18 years of age and the results will be available by September.
"However, we have started a small study on children b/w the age of 2-18 yrs & we shall have results of that by Sept or so. However, int'l jury is still not out & they're still debating whether children need to be vaccinated. We've seen some complications in the US," he said.
'Vaccination Useful in Pregnant Woman': ICMR
Dr Balram Bhargava, Director General of the Indian Council of Medical Research on 25 June stated that vaccination is useful in pregnant woman and show be given to the them.
"The Ministry of Health has given the guideline that vaccine can be given to pregnant women. Vaccination is useful in pregnant women and it should be given," he said.
Delhi Reports 115 Fresh COVID Cases, 4 Deaths in 24 Hours
Delhi on 25 June reported 115 new COVID-19 cases, 198 recoveries and 4 deaths in the past 24 hours, reported ANI.
According to the Delhi State Health Bulletin, the national capital has 1,680 active cases.
Eight States Have More Than 50 Percent Cases of Delta Variant: NCDC
Dr SK Singh, National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Director on 25 June stated that eight states in India have more than 50 percent cases attributing to the Delta variant of COVID-19, first found in India.
The eights states are Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Kerala, Maharashtra, Punjab, Telangana and West Bengal.
Recovery Rate Increased to 96.7 Percent: Health Ministry
Dr Lav Agarwal, Joint Secretary, Union Health Ministry on 25 June stated that the COVID-19 recovery rate has increased to 96.7 percent.
He added that currently, only 125 distractions in the country are reporting more than 100 cases compared to first week of May 2021, where 531 districts were reporting the same case figures.
"In the week of 4th May, 531 districts of the country were reporting more than 100 cases. In the week of 2nd June, it fell down to 262 districts. Right now only 125 districts in the country are reporting more than 100 cases," he said
